In light of recent developments, the Ministry of Magic (aka the Staff of Pottermore Experience) have a few last minute messages to send out to the Wizarding World. We hope you take these messages as seriously as we do.
1) Respect - Unfortunately, in the last few days, we have been having some problems with respect in the forum and the chat. Some members are not treating the Mods with the courtesy they need to have in order to do their jobs properly. The Mods are Mods for a reason, and when they ask for your attention, we ask that you give it. Also, when they provide information, we ask that you pause your conversation and listen to them. Furthermore, our Headmistress, and Head of Hufflepuff, has not been getting the respect she deserves. She does a lot for the forum, and we feel that she deserves considerable understanding and attention whenever she is trying to convey information relevant to Pottermore and the forum.
2) Rules - We would like to remind everyone to read the rules carefully. This is a final warning; we will no longer tolerate flagrant disregard to said rules. We would like to draw particular importance to our policy on spamming.
Recently, there has been an excess of double posting. We would like to remind members that this is not allowed. The first three times we will edit the post and send you a warning. After that we will start suspending accounts. Also, people have been posting unnecessary comments outside of the games area. Simply agreeing with someone does not count as a meaningful post, please have something to contribute to the topic at hand when you are posting.
3) Karma - As current forum users have inadvertently abused the Karma system, it is now down for an indefinite amount of time. The Karma system was meant to be a means of adding or taking away house points, to only be used by the Heads of Houses and soon to be Head Boy and Head Girl. We are currently re-evaluating the point system and it may be revised in the near future.
PottermoreExperience is a fun, hands-on forum, and we want everybody to have a good time. However, since the official opening is next week, we will be cracking down on rules now, rather than later. To ensure that people are reading the rules of this forum, we have decided to add three phrases in the body of the rules. These phrases are in the Rulebook within this forum. We ask that all members PM a Head of House repeating the three phrases within 48 hours. If you were unable to make this deadline, PM a Head of House and discuss it with them.
