FAQ
Q: What is Pottermore?
Pottermore is a new website created by JK Rowling to give Harry Potter fans more information about the universe she created, while living the experience in the books. Pottermore Experience is an extension of that for older Harry Potter fans, as some choices in Pottermore are limiting to be friendly for all ages.
Q: When will I receive my beta invite?
No one knows at this moment, or the order in which beta invites will be sent out. At this moment, it would be best to wait, as patience is a virtue us Harry Potter fans should be very familiar with!
Q: When is Pottermore's official release date?
All we know is that it will be sometime in October.
Q: What's the chat about?
The chat was started back when Pottermore was first announced, and exploded when the beta clues for Pottermore were coming out. The main admin, Appingo, came up with the idea to make a forum to discuss Pottermore and experience it for older players, without ruining JK Rowling's vision of a site appropriate for all ages.
Q: What are the phrases things in the rules?
The phrases are set up in the Rulebook to be sure that members read the rules. If you haven't seen the first time, try reading the rules again, carefully. : ) They should stick out to you. Hint: You should also try reading the 'fine print'!
Q: I haven’t been sorted yet/didn‘t get the house I want, can you just go ahead and place me in _____?
No to both. You are to remain unsorted until you are sorted on Pottermore, and then you are to be sorted in the house you were on Pottermore here. There as no exceptions to this rule, I'm sorry, but each house has it's positive qualities and the only thing you're missing out on is the other House welcome posts. ; )
Q: But the Heads of Houses are already sorted?
We are close to 100% positive that the Heads of Houses will end up in the House they are in charge of, and that is the only reason why they're set up as Heads. If the situation changes once they enter beta, we will go from there.
Q: What's the point of clubs?
They're game based, and a way to give your house glory and points if you happen to win! Consider signing up for one or several.
Q: Are there other ways to earn house points?
Yes! We work of a Karma system, with points given out by Heads of Houses or Prefects for helping others, intelligent posts, a whole variety of reasons. You can look into it more here.
Q: Can I be a Prefect or Quidditch Captain?
Applications for both of these posts will be up soon, expect a bit more work and dedication to the forum if you wish to be Prefect.
Q: I have an issue with another member on the forum, who do I talk to about that?
Contact any of the staff and we will do our best to act as mediator to sort out any issues that may have arisen.
