This thread is for discussion of all people that have entered the Beta process for Pottermore, or interested in being spoiled. This is the only place, currently, where you are allowed to discuss anything concerning Pottermore, until more of our members have entered the beta.
As of August 15th, 2011, people have started to recieve their beta emails. Pottermore Experience is of the personal opinion only those of Day One has received theirs, despire opposite claims.
Have fun!

So, I'm in Beta now, and I know there are a few others, so I think we should get this thread started! What do you guys think of the "events"? Seeing a picture and being able to click through a room? I think the layers are really neat, it really gives the feeling that you're in the actual room. I recommend playing some music in the background though, since the site can get lonely. I was just listening to the Soundtracks from the HP movies. I stopped at Chapter 9, so I can't comment on anything past that, but if there's something you found interesting or would like to share, here's the place! Anyone buy anything extra from Diagon Alley? I know I did.

Guys, I am not understanding casting a spell! also, what's your favorite part of your house welcome letter? Mine is.... "I got into big trouble during my third year for duelling a Ravenclaw prefect who insisted that Bridget Wenlock had come from his house, not mine. I should have got a week of detentions, but Professor Sprout let me off with a warning and a box of coconut ice." I love Professor Sprout

I'm in! I'm sorted. I am absolutely in love with my house and my wand! My favorite chapter so far, as totally been shopping for my school supplies. Lol
Potions... I am rubbish with. Took me ages just to do the boil cure. :/ Spells I'm kind of getting. I'm glad they're difficult though. As sad as that sounds. Lol

I kinda have the spells figured out... I think. You gotta click the letter twice each time it hits.. once to stop it and once to start it type thing. If that makes any sense. *shrugs* it took a bit. I'm totally not a potions person I think. LOL

I got home from work early Tuesday morning to find my Pottermore e-mail waiting for me, so, of course, instead of going to sleep to be well-rested for work later that day, I stayed up exploring the site. XD
I absolutely love the layers that you can click through and all the animations that happen when you hover your mouse over something. All of the extra little tidbits that have been added so far have also been amazing. I love learning more about the characters' backstory.
My favorite part of the Ravenclaw welcome letter was this:
“[Professor Flitwick’s] office door is always open to any Ravenclaw with a problem, and if you’re in a real state he’ll get out these delicious little cupcakes he keeps in a tin in his desk drawer and make them do a little dance for you. In fact, it’s worth pretending you’re in a real state just to see them jive.”
Hahahaha. I can just imagine the dancing cupcakes and know I'm in the right house. :D
As for the spells, Mai is right. You type/click on the letter, which will produce a circle that starts to expand out. Once the letter is in that circle, type/click on it again, and it will go on to the next letter. You'll have to repeat that process with all of the selected letters to complete the spell. It's not easy, so it's good to practise!

aww! Oh, I need to refind the welcome letter since you showed it to me and I refused to read it. hahaha *ventures off to do so* That is cute though! Dancing cupcakes. The layers are awesome! And so beautiful. I love the artwork.

But Jenae, aren't Hufflepuffs supposed to be good at finding things? XD But I understand. I had to go through the chapters again to find the last two chocolate frog cards I missed.
Ang, what's your favorite part of the Gryffindor welcome letter?

Can I just say I find it fascinating that Quirrell would be considered a temporary horcrux due to Voldemort's possession? It makes so much sense, yet it still surprises me as much as it did when I first read that. Of course, Voldemort didn't split any new parts of the soul to possess Quirrell, but it opens up new questions about the Horcrux process, which we'll only find out in book six or not at all.
